Eskew+Dumez+Ripple, a New Orleans based design practice ranked by Architect magazine as one of the top 20 firms in the country, seeks a truly extraordinary individual to work with our project teams to enable them to make evidence-based design choices in support of healthy, high-performance buildings and communities.
This ‘sustainability enabler’ will plug into design teams, helping inform design choices through energy and daylight modeling and assessment of the environmental and health impacts of materials choices. The work will involve participation in all project phases, from pre-design charrettes to post-occupancy performance measurements and occupant engagement. The position requires an unusual mix of technical and people skills. We are looking for someone who can think like a designer, master new tools quickly, communicate graphically, listen well, and write clearly. We want someone clever, funny, and fearless.
Applicants are expected to have a degree in the field of design & construction (architecture, mechanical engineering most likely, but we are open to other degrees if the applicant demonstrates suitable aptitude and experience.) LEED accreditation or experience with Living Building Challenge, Enterprise Green Communities, or PassiveHouse certification is a strong plus. The best candidates will equally comfortable in Revit, Excel, and drawing an evocative hand sketch.
Those who bring 3-5 years experience will be preferred, but those with a shorter track record of accomplishment will be considered.
