Design Kits

 NOMA LA is partnering up with University of Louisiana at Lafayette School of Architecture and Design, Tulane School of Architecture, LSU School of Architecture, and Louisiana Tech School of Design in launching a program to help design students obtain the necessary design supplies for there 1st year in Architecture/design school .

The program is to donate Design supply kits based on the list Architecture schools give to incoming freshmen and donate them to the freshman with the highest financial need. We are putting out a call to faculty, graduating students, and Architectural professionals to donate their unused or gently used architecture supplies. To coordinate pick up/drop off please contact our NOMA LA board member, Austin Hogans at ahogans@nomala.org

DSGN 101 Studio

  • x-acto knife

  • x-acto #11 blades, pack of 15 (minimum)

  • 30” (min) T-Square Wood with Acrylic Edge – Alvin brand or equal (NOT A METAL T-SQUARE)

  • 19”x24” or 18”x24” Bristol Pad – Smooth. (Blick 100lb 15 sheet, Strathmore Bristol 300 Series 20 sheet, or Strathmore 400 series 15 sheet)

  • OPTIONAL: lockable tackle box for storing/transporting supplies + lock for the tackle box + cable bike lock to attach it to your assigned desk

DSGN 102 Studio:

  • Charcoal (if we get a pack of charcoal, we can split it between students)

  • Workable fixative

  • Watercolor set (nothing fancy, can be from Walmart, the Dollar Store, etc.)

  • New pack of Xacto blades (see above)

DSGN 114 Drawing/Drafting Class:

  • 23” x 26” Masonite field drawing board with clips for drawing outside

  • 25’ minimum tape measure

  • Hand-held pencil sharpener with canister for waste

  • 18”x 24” Newsprint tablet, 50 sheets

  • New pack of Bristol paper (see above)
